Oxford Research has been assigned to investigate the structure and function of skills supply systems relating to radiation safety in Belgium, Finland, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Spain.

Oxford Research has been commissioned by the Swedish National Council for Nuclear Waste to investigate the structure and function of skills supply systems relating to radiation safety in six European countries. The purpose of the assignment is to increase the overall knowledge concerning international skills supply within radiation safety. The final report will constitute an important source of information for the National Council for Nuclear Waste’s status report to the Government in February 2020.

Case studies will be carried out in Belgium, Finland, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Spain. The country cases will include a general description of the countries’ context in relation to nuclear operations and the skills supply situation at large. They will also investigate how the countries’ skills supply system is structured in relation to the division of responsibilities and funding.

Data collection for the assignment combines desk research and expert interviews with national authorities in each respective country.

A final report will be submitted to the client in June 2019.
